Spring, spring, spring...

If I chant enough, maybe it will come quickly.  Or....maybe not, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?  Anywho, even though the ground is still covered in cold white stuff, it is definitely feeling like spring in my house!  Don't believe me?  Check out these spring inspired cupcakes and see for yourself!

Pie Anyone?

So I made some super cute, super yummy cupcakes that definitely look more like some kind of berry pie than a cupcake.  Don't let the look fool you, these are all chocolate, all the way!  Chocolate cupcake, chocolate candy, sure to satisfy any chocolate lover's dream!

Cookies For Kendall

Kendall wanted a birthday treat to take in to preschool.  Like most of us (especially with this tropical weather we are having), she was thinking spring.  Lots of flowers and butterflies in all sorts of adorable girly colors!  I'm just hoping the weather doesn't disappear once all the cookies are gone...

Happy Valentine's Day (a little early)!

Only two more days to go, have you gotten your sweetie something to show them how much you care?  Heart shaped cake pops would be a super sweet way to do that!

They start with a little of this....

And then they look like this...

A little more work...

And finally...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Introducing......Cake Pops!

A new treat has been added to my repertoire.  I have recently acquired a book (thank you Sheshaw) about the delectable creations called simply, cake pops.  They are balls of cake and icing covered with candy coating, and are oh so scrumptious!  And I forgot to mention that they are balanced atop a stick.  Like a lollipop.  Hence the name cake pops.  They can fit any occasion or theme by changing shape or color, and they are really quite cute.  Cute and delicious, a great combination!

This next collection of pops is perfect for Valentine's Day, they are inspired by the classic Conversation Hearts.  The credit for this idea goes to Bakerella, isn't it a great one?!

Happy Birthday Luke!

My husband Luke is a closet drummer, which does not mean that he drums in the closet.  He actually plays the drums in our spare/workout room.  Drumming(is that a verb?) is a hobby of his that not a ton of people know about, and a hobby that our neighbors may possibly hate!  He's actually quite talented, and I made him a snare drum birthday cake for his 24th birthday.  Happy Birthday honey!
