It's been awhile!

Whew!  I can't believe the last time I posted anything new was in March, I've been very bad!  It's about time for an update.  Instead of making individual posts for each project, let's do it marathon style, all in one post!  Here goes!

Cupcakes!  I love 'em.  I love to eat them, bake them, decorate them!  They're so cute, what's not to love?

Happy Birthday Sailor Dan!

And........I have been on a bit of a cookie kick lately.  They are all I can think about, I even dream of cookies!

Happy 60th!

These were some fun cupcakes.  First of all they were red velvet which is my absolute favorite!  These cupcakes went to my grandparent's surprise 60th wedding anniversary get together.  In this picture only the top cupcake had a cookie "60" on the top, but when they arrived at the party, each cupcake was embellished with the tasty 6-0!

Rainbow-licious

So this is a super colorful super cute super yummy cake.  One of my husband's cousins made one, and I've been dying to make one ever since!  The super cool thing about this concept, is that you could use any colors to suit your theme or party!  I'm really itching to try out the different colors with a checkerboard cake.

Hello Birdie!

It's been a while since I've posted, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!  What I'm about to show you are the cutest sweet treats I have ever made!  These are little bird cake pops, and they were made for a baby shower.  See the momma bird and daddy bird in the nest with the little egg?  Soooo cute!

Spring, spring, spring...Part II

I definitely have a bad case of spring fever.  The bad news is that it is definitely not spring yet, but the good news is that it has inspired some yummy creations!  When I'm stuck inside on a cold wintry day, what else is there to do but bake and decorate?

Spring, spring, spring...

If I chant enough, maybe it will come quickly.  Or....maybe not, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?  Anywho, even though the ground is still covered in cold white stuff, it is definitely feeling like spring in my house!  Don't believe me?  Check out these spring inspired cupcakes and see for yourself!

Pie Anyone?

So I made some super cute, super yummy cupcakes that definitely look more like some kind of berry pie than a cupcake.  Don't let the look fool you, these are all chocolate, all the way!  Chocolate cupcake, chocolate candy, sure to satisfy any chocolate lover's dream!

Cookies For Kendall

Kendall wanted a birthday treat to take in to preschool.  Like most of us (especially with this tropical weather we are having), she was thinking spring.  Lots of flowers and butterflies in all sorts of adorable girly colors!  I'm just hoping the weather doesn't disappear once all the cookies are gone...

Happy Valentine's Day (a little early)!

Only two more days to go, have you gotten your sweetie something to show them how much you care?  Heart shaped cake pops would be a super sweet way to do that!

They start with a little of this....

And then they look like this...

A little more work...

And finally...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Introducing......Cake Pops!

A new treat has been added to my repertoire.  I have recently acquired a book (thank you Sheshaw) about the delectable creations called simply, cake pops.  They are balls of cake and icing covered with candy coating, and are oh so scrumptious!  And I forgot to mention that they are balanced atop a stick.  Like a lollipop.  Hence the name cake pops.  They can fit any occasion or theme by changing shape or color, and they are really quite cute.  Cute and delicious, a great combination!

This next collection of pops is perfect for Valentine's Day, they are inspired by the classic Conversation Hearts.  The credit for this idea goes to Bakerella, isn't it a great one?!

Happy Birthday Luke!

My husband Luke is a closet drummer, which does not mean that he drums in the closet.  He actually plays the drums in our spare/workout room.  Drumming(is that a verb?) is a hobby of his that not a ton of people know about, and a hobby that our neighbors may possibly hate!  He's actually quite talented, and I made him a snare drum birthday cake for his 24th birthday.  Happy Birthday honey!

Happy Birthday Abby!

This heart shaped cake is a yellow cake with yummy chocolate cream filling. Word on the street is that Abby's family really enjoyed it!

Santa, Rudolph, Stars and More!

I had a lot of fun decorating Christmas cookies this year!  Here are just a few of the many I did.
